Dirty Little Seeds?

Recently, this has a been a topic of debate for me and a couple people. When I was in Afghanistan, I ate my fair share of apricot seeds, a lot actually. I would watch them crack open the center of the fruit and expose and share the almond-like seed in the center. So I personally can vouch for it not killing anyone and so can millions of Afghans and Pakistanis. Furthermore, unless you eat about 700 all at once and chew them ferociously, they aren’t going to kill you. Now, with that being said, ever get the shits after you drink your Angy Orchard? Well, they process and ferment the seeds inside of their batches, which in return creates a pretty heavy source of the cyanide. Your Alcohol is way more aggressive on the body than any fruit seed or plant for that matter. Anyway, before I go off on some wild tangent about Marijuana benefits and the world’s obsession with the most dangerous drug in the world, alcohol, I’m just going to leave the rest up to you…
  • An estimated 88,0008 people (approximately 62,000 men and 26,000 women8) die from alcohol-related causes annually, making alcohol the third leading preventable cause of death in the United States. The first is tobacco, and the second is poor diet and physical inactivity.
  • In 2014, alcohol-impaired driving fatalities accounted for 9,967 deaths (31 percent of overall driving fatalities).10
